What Is Required For A Marriage Quranically? Belief. 2:221,16:72

What does Allah require in the Quran for believers to be married? Belief, and belief alone.

Allah does not mention that anything is needed for a couple to get married except belief (2:221). He does not require (or forbid) a contract, witnesses, a ceremony, an Imam, or anything else. Even the dowry can come after the marriage (2:236). But belief, belief is essential. Belief that the person you have chosen to marry is a believer (2:221), and belief that this person is the mate Allah has created for you (16:72, 30:21, and 7:189). Not that you will know for sure that this person is the one Allah has destined for you, but you can, and should, believe it for sure.

Because once one person no longer believes that the other person is meant for them, the marriage is in serious trouble. And if they both no longer believe, the marriage is most likely over. But as long as the couple believe they are meant to be, they will remain.

i think gay people shuold be allowed to marry eachother and have it called marrage. I think its just discriminating when they dont allow it to be called marrage just because the two people are of the same sex. Marrage is supposed to be the union of two people who love eachother, it shuoldnt matter what your gender is.
